Bio: Charlie Evans
Charlie Evans, FLW Outdoors president and chief executive officer, has been a competitive angler since 1971. A graduate of Berea College in Berea, Ky., Evans holds a degree in business administration. His passion, however, has always been fishing.
In 1982, Evans joined FLW Outdoors and put his business training and fishing acumen to the test as a tournament director. He was promoted to vice president shortly after starting with the company and promoted again to head of tournaments in 1984. Evans was promoted to chief operating officer in 1996, which is the same year he started hosting Wal-Mart FLW Tour weigh-ins on national television. He was subsequently promoted to the chief executive post in 2004. Today, in addition to his other roles at FLW Outdoors, Evans co-hosts the “FLW Outdoors” television show on Versus. Evans was born March 8, 1950, in Hazard, Ky., but currently resides in Gilbertsville, Ky., where he plays a pivotal role with the world‘s leading marketer of competitive fishing.
Bio: Jason Harper
Jason is honored to be the host of the “FLW Outdoors” television show on Versus. He joined the FLW Outdoors family in January of 2008 after waking Arkansas up for eight years as a morning television host at KATV. Over the years he‘s been hang-gliding, bull-riding, scuba diving, and passing out with the Blue Angels. He‘s always loved the outdoors and talking is his best skill, so what better job than to show off the best anglers in the world!
Jason is a native of Atlanta, Ga., and moved to Little Rock, Ark., in January of 2000 with his wife, Leslie. Jason attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., where he received a Bachelor of Music degree in the area of Commercial Music and Music Business. After performing with Opryland Productions for four years, he was led to Arkansas to work in the media field.
His favorite thing to do is hang out with his wife, Leslie, and daughters Chloe and Avery. He has a love/hate relationship with golf and no matter what anyone says, he hits golf balls into the woods for more exercise. Jason and his family are active in their church, and he and his wife spend most of their time entertaining all around Arkansas.
